Dr. George Nwangwu has over 18 years’ experience as a lawyer spanning various aspects of legal practice and academia in Nigeria and the United Kingdom. As an international consultant to multilateral institutions, he has been involved with framework issues in the field of Infrastructure/utilities Regulation and Finance, Energy Law, Project management, Environmental law and Public Private Partnerships (PPPs), providing full support to government agencies and mineral exploration and production companies. Dr. Nwangwu was a DFID and World Bank funded consultant with the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) where he held the following posts: Environmental Legal Adviser, Infrastructure Legal Adviser, Special Assistant to the Director General on legal and strategy issues and finally, Head of Strategy and Multilateral Relations.

To date, Dr. Nwangwu has participated in over 100 privatization/ PPP transactions worth over USD
4.5 billion either on the side of the public sector or private sector. He was PPP Coordinator, Federal
Ministry of Finance. He was also Special Adviser to the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and
Hon. Minister of Finance on Infrastructure Finance and PPPs. Dr. Nwangwu was also a lecturer in the Department of Commercial Law University of Lagos and taught International Commercial Arbitration in the University of London (External Programme). He has published extensively in the area of PPPs.
